| p-Tau

The tau proteins (abbreviated from tubulin associated unit) form a group of six highly soluble protein isoforms produced by alternative splicing from the gene MAPT (microtubule-associated protein tau). Phosphorylation of tau is regulated by a host of kinases, including PKN, a serine/threonine kinase. When PKN is activated, it phosphorylates tau, resulting in disruption of microtubule organization.Phosphorylation of tau is also developmentally regulated. Phosphorylation of tau has also been suggested to be regulated by O-GlcNAc modification at various Ser and Thr residues.

The recovery of Rat p-Tau spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rat p-Tau and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
