| HMG-1
High mobility Group protein 1 (HMG-1), also known as bupropion, is a protein encoded by the HMGB1 gene. HMG-1 belongs to the high mobility group and contains an HMG-box domain. Like histones, HMG1 is one of the most important chromatin proteins. In the nucleus, HMG1 interacts with ribosomes, transcription factors, and histones. This nucleoprotein organizes DNA and regulates transcription, and after binding, HMG1 bends the DNA. HMG1 supports the transcription of many genes in its interactions with many transcription factors. It also interacts with the ribosome to loosen the packaged DNA and reshape chromatin. Contact with the core histone changes the structure of the ribosome.| Typical data
As the OD values of the standard curve may vary according to the conditions of the actual assay performance (e.g. operator, pipetting technique, wash technique or temperature effects), the operator should establish a standard curve for each test. Typical standard curve and data are provided below for reference only.| Concentration (pg/mL) | 2000 | 1000 | 500 | 250 | 125 | 62.5 | 31.25 | 0 |

| Repeatability
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):CV% < 10%; Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):CV% < 10%| Recovery
The recovery of Rat HMG-1 spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.| Sample Type | Range(%) | Average Recovery(%) |

| Plasma(n=8) | 90-105 | 102 |
| Linearity
Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rat HMG-1 and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.| Serum(n=4) | Plasma(n=4) | ||
