Collagenase is a protease that consists of a single polypeptide chain of approximately 1,000 amino acid residues in length.Collagenase is capable of digesting native collagen fibers commonly found in connective tissue and is therefore often used for tissue dissociation.Collagenase preparations contain the activity of several proteases, including collagenase, caspase, clostridial protease, and trypsin (Kessler & Yaron).Type IV collagenase contains low levels of trypsin activity and is frequently used in pancreatic islets (Taguchi et al.) and in applications where receptor integrity needs to be maintained.

The recovery of Mouse Ⅳ-C spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Mouse Ⅳ-C and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
