| ITLN1

Endagglutinin 1(ITLN1), also known as Omentin or intestinal lactoferrin receptor, is a protein encoded by the ITLN1 gene.Intelectin-1 functions both as a receptor for bacterial arabinogalactans and for lactoferrin.It enhances insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in fat cells and is a link between obesity and type 2 diabetes. It also has the function of blood vessel dilation, which plays a protective role during coronary atherosclerosis and hypertension.
