| Renin

Renin (REN) , also known as an angiotensinogenase, is an aspartate protease protein and enzyme secreted by the kidney that is involved in the human renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), increasing the volume of extracellular fluid (plasma, lymph, and interstitial fluid) and causes arterial vasoconstriction. Renin's primary function is therefore to eventually cause an increase in blood pressure, leading to restoration of perfusion pressure in the kidneys. Renin secretion is also stimulated by sympathetic nervous stimulation, mainly through β1 adrenoreceptor activation.

| Recovery

The recovery of Human Renin spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human Renin and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
