| FUT8

Fucosyltransferase 8, also known as FUT8, is an enzyme encoded by the FUT8gene. This enzyme belongs to the fucosyltransferase family. The product of thisgene catalyzes the transfer of fucose from GDP-fucose to N-linked complexoligosaccharides. This enzyme is distinct from other fucosyltransferases that addalpha1-2, alpha1-3, and alpha1-4 fucose linkages. The expression of this genemay contribute to the malignancy and invasive and metastatic capabilities ofcancer cells. Alternative splice variants encoding different isoforms have beenidentified.

The recovery of Human FUT8 spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
