| CRNN

Cornulin protein (CRNN), also known as squamous epithelial heat shock protein 53 (SEP53), is encoded by the CRNN gene.The encoded protein contains two EF-hand Ca2+ binding domains in its N-terminus and two glutamine- and threonine-rich 60 amino acid repeats in its C-terminus. Expression in esophageal cancer tissue was greatly reduced or absent compared to the expression in matched adjacent normal esophageal mucosa.Cornulin, a marker of late epidermal differentiation, is down-regulated in eczema.
