| KCP

Kielin/Chordin-like protein (KCP) is a novel enhancer of BMP signaling that ameliorates renal fibrotic diseases. Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) critically regulate embryonic development, cell differentiation, and disease processes. BMP signaling is normally inhibited by cysteine-rich proteins such as chordin, which sequester BMP ligands from their receptors. In contrast to these inhibitors, KCP uniquely potentiates BMP signaling through its distinct structural domains, thereby demonstrating therapeutic potential for fibrotic disorders by promoting tissue repair pathways while suppressing excessive extracellular matrix deposition characteristic of fibrosis.

| Recovery

The recovery of Human KCP spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
