| TPA

Tissue Polypeptide Antigen (TPA) is a fetal antigen found in highly proliferative tissues, with minimal levels present in normal tissues. TPA is recognized by antibodies against cytokeratins 8, 18, and 19. Several immunoreactive TPA proteins have been isolated, with molecular weights ranging from 20 to 45 kDa. TPA shares extensive homology with certain cytokeratins and cytoskeletal proteins, and its concentration increases during cell division. As a general tumor marker, TPA lacks organ specificity.

| Recovery

The recovery of Human TPA spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human TPA and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
