| HBeAb

The antibody produced in response to stimulation by the hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), which specifically binds to the e antigen. It typically appears after the HBcAb (core antibody) and is a marker of reduced viral replication. This is a non-protective antibody that does not directly confer immunity. HBeAg (hepatitis B envelope antigen) is located between the icosahedral nucleocapsid core and the lipid envelope but is considered 'non-particulate,' as it is secreted and accumulates in the serum. HBeAg and HBcAg are derived from the same open reading frame.

The recovery of Mouse HBeAb spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
