Product Datasheets
| T4
Thyroxine, also known as T4, is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland. It is the primary form of thyroid hormone found in the blood and acts as a prohormone of the more active thyroid hormone, triiodothyronine (T3).The half-life of T4 is about 6.5 days.Thyroxine biosynthesis is a multi-step process that occurs in follicular cell within the thyroid gland. The synthesis of thyroxine requires adequate iodine supply and appropriate hormonal control.
| Repeatability
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):CV% < 10%; Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):CV% < 10%| Recovery
The recovery of Chicken T4 spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.| Sample Type | Range(%) | Average Recovery(%) |
| Serum(n=8) | 81-101 | 96 |
| Plasma(n=8) | 92-105 | 101 |
| Linearity
Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Chicken T4 and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.| Serum(n=4) | Plasma(n=4) | ||
| 1 : 2 | Range (%) | 83-95 | 88-97 |
| Average (%) | 91 | 94 | |
| 1 : 4 | Range (%) | 89-104 | 87-108 |
